Moses Barlow SWIFT⁽¹⁾ was born on 19 Oct 1783 in Dutchess Co., New York. He emigrated in 1846 from Emigrated to Green Lake Co., Wisconsin. He died on 11 Feb 1867 in Green Lake, Green Lake Co., Wisconsin ?. Moses B. Swift was a native of Dutchess County N.Y., on reaching mahood wedded Miss Fannie Hitchcock, who was also born in the Empire State. They began their domestic life in Orleans County, where they resided until 1846, when they emigrated to Green Lake County, Wisconsin, settling near Little Green Lake, where they spent the remainder of their lives.
He was a blacksmith by trade, but followed farming after his removal to the West.
He took an active part in public affairs, and held many office of honor and trust, both in his native state
and in Wisconsin. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and for his services received a land warrant.
He became one of the most extensive land owers in this part of the country, but was very generous with his wealth, giving freely for the support of all public enterprises, and extending a helping hand to the poor and needy. He will long remembered for his many acts of kindness and deeds of charity, for the recipients of his bounty are many.
He supported the Whig party in early life, but afterwards became a Republican. He died at the age of 76, in 1867, and his wife departed this life in 1851, when fifty-five years of age.

Moses B./ Swift was 1st Supervisor of the Twp. of Green Lake when organized in 1849. M.B. Swift with large family came to Green Lake Twp. in 1848.

S.R Lathrop's narrative in 1860, states:
"M.B., Swift, with a large family and abundant means, settled here (at Little Green Lake) in 1848, adding much to the imporovement of the settlement. The town of Green Lake was organized in 1849: Moses B Swift, supervisor; number of votes at first town meeting, seven; then in Brown County."--Ripon Hist Coll. Vol 12(b) p 170,171.

It states that Moses B. Swift died 20 August., 1896 at his home in the town of Mackford.
He left surviving him: His widow, Jennie Swift and one child, Harold M. Swift, a minor both living in the town of Mackford.
Jennie Swift hopes that administration be given to M. B. Folsom also of the town of Mackford.

The appraisers were John Davids and Henry A. Graham

Another paper is a petition for allowance of support of family.
It lists Harold M. Swift as age 1 yr. on Nov 10, 1896. he was born on Nov 10, 1895. (His Date of birth is given here)

On another it states that the widow and son desire to move into the house which Moses B. Swift had 2/3 ownership in Markesan. As the dwelling was dilapidated they needed $300 fo fix it up. It also states that the other 1/3 is owned by Eva Robinson.
